Ok, so the hard reality is that Up Roll Cafe in Honolulu is pretty much my favourite place on the planet, but unfortunately it's a 10 hour flight away. Never has Hawaii felt so far, as when I'm craving one of these stunning sushi burittos. Honestly, this place is THAT good. My friendrecently found Up Roll on Instagram & while in Hawaii last month, we made it our mission in life to walk here. Over the course of 16 nights we ate here 3 times, the last jaunt was in complete despair on our way to the airport. Yep, we both bought an 'Ahi Lovers Roll' to take on the flight home to Sydney. Screw you airplane food! After working my way around the menu a few times, the Ahi Lovers Roll remains my steadfast favourite. I ordered this twice with a decent amount of extras including, avocado, Japanese basil, cilantro, pickles & inari skin which worked to soak up the sesame sauce really nicely. The ordering experience here is unique, much like the food concept which allows you to tailor the roll to your own taste. The menu is designed checklist style & allows you to choose additional extras to add to your desired roll. Possible options include a roll or a bowl, type of rice/quinoa, sauce & toppings. The combinations are endless. There's genuinely not enough ridiculously wonderful things I can say about this place, just thinking about it makes me hungry & fills my heart with a longing that only a great ocean can create by its divide. ... Hell, next time we're both buying t-shirts from these guys so we can let our inner 'Up Roll Groupie' flags fly!

Both food and vibes are fantastic. My roll was sooo fresh and delicious. The owner was so kind and the service was amazing! Perfect last place to stop before I head to the airport.

Discovered this place on a trip to Hawaii this week. Ended up going back again on the way home to the airport. The rolls are PHENOMENAL! (The shirts they sell are cool too) I had the spicy Ahi with spicy mayo. Pure deliciousness! Looking forward to my next trip out there!

January 2024: Ordered an ahi avocado roll with white rice. Sauces were the spicy mayo and the sesame miso. Everything was very tasty. I thought there was a good amount of ahi and avocado . I tried the yuzu soda which came with jelly. The drink hit the spot. I would definitely come back again for more sushi rolls.

We recently stopped by for lunch. There was no one in the cafe but many people came in to grab orders they had placed online. We were greeted and helped right away. Our food came out quickly and we were pleasantly surprised at how fresh and flavorful everything was. Look forward to trying more items and checking out other locations for Up Roll Cafe!

Vegan Options! We got the vegan inari in a burrito. They had 3 sauces that were vegan - an onion dressing, green sriracha and a white tabasco. They said the green sriracha and white tabasco were spicy, but I didn't feel that way. The white tabasco was delicious. Would def recommend, split it with my boyfriend and was very filling!

Walked in and was immediately greeted with a kind welcome by the women working there. They cheerfully explained how to fill out the order menu and bring it to the register when completed. The food was prepared in reasonable time and tasted amazing. I ordered the sexy salmon bowl and highly recommend it. The staff seemed to enjoy working together which made the atmosphere more positive as well. Can’t wait to go back to try something else. The location was also great as I was making my way to the street art murals, which you should definitely check out in the Kakaako neighborhood!

They are so delicious! First meal at Hawaii and this really hits the spot. - Spicy Ahi & Frozen Thai Coffee
